JOB MISSION
The Product Engineer (Level II) at HwIT is a key technical contributor bridging R&D innovation and global manufacturing. This professional actively supports the industrialization cycle — from first R&D prototypes through NPI delivery to mass production — executing BOM control, product cost modeling, and equipment management for NPI, helping our customers' products achieve world-class manufacturing quality, competitive costs, and scalable production.
SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Product Lifecycle & Financial Control
· BOM Management for Complex Products: Execute technical ownership of Bills of Materials, ensuring structural integrity, component traceability, and alignment with engineering changes.
· Product Cost Control: Assist in developing and maintaining detailed product cost models, tracking cost drivers around materials and processes, and supporting cost reduction initiatives.
· Engineering Change Control (ECR/ECN): Support the Engineering Change Request and Engineering Change Notice cycle, documenting modifications, capturing lessons learned, and evaluating industrial feasibility and cost impacts.
2. Process Design, NPI, and Global Transference
· Process Flow, Requirements & Documentation: Assist in defining assembly process flows, line requirements, and maintaining comprehensive manufacturing documentation. Support process validations and failure analysis arising from process deviations.
· NPI Equipment Management: Help define technical specifications for production equipment and materials, tracking procurement activities in collaboration with R&D and Manufacturing teams.
· Manufacturing Capacity Model: Develop and update assembly line capacity models, collecting yields and process times to assist in ensuring production scalability and feeding capacity utilization data into cost models.
· R&D to Manufacturing Bridge: Execute the technical transference of validated processes from R&D labs to high-volume manufacturing sites under senior technical guidance.
· Global Product & Process Support: Travel to Asia, Europe, and the Americas to provide on-site support for manufacturing technology learning, process debugging, yield improvement, and failure analysis.
· Equipment Transference Logistics: Assist in the logistics of equipment transfers between sites, tracking shipping, installation, and qualification.
· R&D and Manufacturing Integration: Promote effective integration between R&D and Manufacturing teams, bridging technical language and ensuring engineering decisions are applied in production.
3. CANDIDATE PROFILE
Technical Requirements
· Education: Bachelor's Degree in Production, Telecommunications, Electric, or Mechatronic Engineering.
· Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in Product/Process Engineering in high-complexity industries.
· Professional Certification: Knowledge of PMI or ASQ frameworks (e.g., CAPM, Green Belt) is a plus.
· Global Mobility: Part of work time involves on-site visits to manufacturing and partner locations; remainder is local or remote.
· Expertise: Solid knowledge in NPI, equipment/materials management, capacity planning, and production failure analysis.
· Toolbox: Experience with PLM systems and JMP/Minitab. Technical knowledge in Python, C#, and/or LabVIEW is desirable.
Languages
· Portuguese: Native.
· English: Mandatory — Advanced/Fluent (B2/C1 level).
· Spanish: Bilingual — Desirable.
Soft Skills (Aligned with HwIT Values)
· Superar (Overcome): Resilience to resolve technical issues under pressure in remote factory environments.
· Inovar (Innovate): Drive to find creative solutions to optimize assembly lines and identify root causes with the engineering team.
· Desenvolver (Develop): Active participation in team knowledge sharing and continuous personal development in complex NPI environments.
